I am at the very begining stages of a CR750 replica build and would like to keep the build more true to original. The high tech front ends (inverted forks, brembos) just don't seem to blend in to the vintage look very well and I am hoping these forks will give me plenty of stopping power in preportion to a mildly tuned 836?
As far as building goes I am quite busy with my "gentlemans cafe" project, currently underway, but I will be doing a little wrenching, R&D and parts acquisition on the CR project to keep my brain stimulated while I am building it. (helps with the ADD as some of you know)
I am starting with this:
Low mileage 1978 CB750f, needs a new top end (great excuse to rebuild motor)
Problem is the comstars so I need wheels.
Question..
This morning I came across this GL1100
It has the comstar on the rear and luckily someone swapped the front for spokes.
The rim is a DID 1.85 19", the fork tubes measure 37mm
Is this the proper front end for a CR750 conversion?
What is fair price to offer for the complete front end?
Thanks in advance!
