Conrod's original or not?

I hope you folks can help me sort out which conrod is "original".
There are just so many types of them which are all supposed to be original that I am a little confused.

The ones that have "CR750)" on them are not Honda parts. The ones from David Silver look to be OEM.  No rods from Honda have bushed small ends.

The bottom pic shows Carrillo's

Pics in 1,not sure.Rods in pic 2 look like K model.Pic 3,part # ending in 970 denoted CR parts.Last pic Carillo's on crank,stock rod next to Carillo? Good Luck,Bill

Jay,thanks,I haven't had the privilege of owning or installing Carillo's....yet! Any idea what rods are on the crank? And a huge thanks for what you are doing for all the old SOHC bikes! ;D,Bill

@Kos: so what you are saying is that the genuine Kit items (all runs) never had cr750 casted in to them ? Because these are coming up frequently, so someone is doing/did these to cash in on the CR750 craze ( either back then or now ?!)

Honda Made CR750 kit rods had nothing cast on them and no Honda rod has ever had bushing in small end. (Wrist pin)

The 2 rods to the right in the bottom 2 pictures below the crank look like Carrillos.

There were several hundred (thousand?) sets of the rods with "CR750" cast into them made "back in the day."  Although I've never used a set, in the distant past they were described to me by knowledgable builders as "junk."  I remember seeing a bunch of them sold for less than $50/set "way back when."  Remember, YMMV.  RR

Those CR rods are complete junk. Ricky is 100% correct.

David Silver Spares sells mostly new and NOS parts. Are they saying they have aftermarket or other-than-stock Honda rods? I'd believe what they have to be original stock rods.

Those "CR750" rods are very heavy too. About 10% heavier than stock. Their weights vary too much between rods to balance very well. 375-380gm + or - for both figures. My Carrillos are 318gm. Stocks are ~357gm. RC took stock rods, peened them and bushed the small ends with their mid-level rod getting larger bolts. Then there are RC Golden rods, Yosh Super rods, Cyclex has rods available, APE had Crower make rods for us but they are heavy like those CR750, there are MTC aluminum rods floating around out there. Oh yeah let's not forget Falicon, probably the 2nd best option currently available. What have I left out guys?

Thanks Jerry, I am currently just looking for information. I assumed the original CR rods to be much lighter and very well out balanced so therefor a good buy if they came available.
But as I now understand they are not a valuable addition to the engine, just something for your mind or in a cabinet to look at...

Don't confuse those "CR750" rods with real CR 750 rods. They are 2 different animals. I'm not so sure than the original CR750 rods weren't stock rods that were shot peened. Mike MARK McGrew (M3) (KOS) would be the best source for that info. My stock rods have handled my Yoshimura 812 with Yoshimura Daytona cam quite well for 25,000+ miles. No head porting though.

Jerry....The David Sliver rods in picture have "970" final part number...so they are real kit rods, unless you think Mr Silver is "miss-labeling" them?

Good info, that's why I deferred to you. Taking a second look at the picture and opening it up I see the -970 and it also looks to be a different color? Different alloy perhaps? Would peening do that?

It came out @ WFO after 10 minutes of severe abuse!

It was glowing red and went about 10-12 feet!

OK,Sam's right,came out of a 4.0L. Ford.Not it's fault,part of the Clunkers For Cash program. Instead of draining the oil and adding sodium silicate,they just drained the oil! ;D Bill
