CB750 oil tank fittings - thread size/pitch?
« on: August 20, 2010, 03:42:15 am »
I'm working on putting a cooler on the race bike.  I've got a CycleX fitting to replace the hose fitting on the engine.  Anyone know the thread size and pitch for the fitting on the oil tank?

Hi Bob, I've just got the same addaptor from CycleX for my drag bike but as It's an automatic there's no oil tank.
Your best bet is to check your local business phone list for hydraulic line supliers, take your tank to them.

Bob
The inner is 24mm & outer is 22mm.
Pitch is 1.75mm I'm fairly certain.

Hey Mick,

Sorry but the pitch is 1.5 m/m.

Cheers, Rob
Better sorry for failing then for the lack of trying.

Changing fittings on tank to AN could make life easier. If you split a fitting (cut in half) to attach by welding be careful, some are made of leaded stock, and difficult to weld. They might be brazeable though.

Stock fittings are huge, way bigger than needed.

Thanks for the heads up on the lead. Welding it could cause it to spatter and pop and resulting injury!!!

BTW Cycle -X seems to feel that the larger hoses are necessary.

I asked the right people:

Both threads are 1.5mm pitch 60 degree ISO - fittings DIN 3902 should work. M22 and M24x1.5.
