Well it turns out that it was a hoax, but nicely done. Here's an update:

How I quit a job with "style"

I worked at a body shop where it was more "Who you know not what you know" and it came time for me to leave.
 So Thursday was the last day of our pay schedule and I went to the body shop manager.

The general jist of the conversation went like this.

Me=  "I found another job"

 Them= "So is this your 2 week notice".

Me= "Well actually it's more of a very weak notice, because the only notice you'll get is when you come in to work tomorrow, you'll notice I'm not here"

My boss wanted me to work for less pay. I didn't think so, since I had trained all the young guys there who would replace me. I went to work for the competition, one of my early apprentices is now a project manager there and he got me hired, we encouraged them to bid work where my former employer was used to getting all the jobs. We took a multi million dollar two year job from them, made my new company good profit and then retired. ;D  I win.
