Geeez, Drivers . . . .
« on: September 07, 2010, 05:59:40 PM »
Not long after I left work today it started to rain a bit. I knew not far up the road was an overpass so I figured I'd hang out there 'till the rain let up. This isn't an interstate overpass so just a sidewalk between the curb and a barrier. Hanging there a minute the sky opens up with sheets of rain coming down. The curb gets runoff water into the street. What do the cars do? Just throw water all over me and bike. Couldn't believe it. Don't know what's worse; that they have no clue what going on around their car or just don't give a damn. I got drenched by the cars worse than the rain might have been. And at least the rain wouldn't have been "personal."

Maybe it was an old girlfriend?

I bet this has never happened to anyone here.

Old girlfriend? I had my helmet on so I was anonymous.  Besides, I don't have that many old girlfriends, just celebrated 40th anniversary.

The best "underpass" to get under is one that goes under the main hiway.

Well, today I laugh about it. At the moment, it was like "what the hell."

In retrospect, it was a hard day at work and I was tired and suffering the post holiday return to work blues. Getting wet perked me up and the incident made me forget my troubles. Is that therapy?
