Topic: 750K3 handlebar dimensions and intake question

I just purchased a 750K3 this weekend and would like to replace the tall handlebars the PO installed. (see picture)  The good news is that I have the rest of the original parts in boxes to put the bike back to stock. 

Does anyone have the dimensions (height, width, pullback, and center) of the stock handlebars?  I would like to get something close.

After I go through the carbs, I am going to re-install the stock airbox.  Should I have any concerns about the PO running the velocity stacks?  There was not even a metal screen in these tubes....

Hopefully he rejetted and didn't seize it from leaning it out and overheating it.
From the looks of it he kinda knew what he was doing with it.

No filtration whatsoever will tend to shorten engine life, how much- who knows?
Most people that run velocity stacks sans wire guards don't worry about this fact though.

You'll want to get stock length cables and hoses too. Maybe they are in your box? If not you're looking at some $$, but still a reasonable thing to do. Apehangers are so weird.

As to the stacks, little late to worry about it. What's done is done. Did you ride it and it ran OK? Good thing is, my experience, the more someone makes those kind of mods, the less they seem to ride it. Hope that was your case as well.

Since you want to return to original, your best bet would be to locate used genuine K3 Honda bars as they already drilled for the stock internal wiring and the switch housing locating pins. The fitment of the stock brake hose and cables will be much easier too. Unfortunately those bars are no longer available new from Honda (53100-341-700) The good news is that those bars were also stock on the CB750 K4 / K5 / K6 and the CB750 1975 / 1975 F models.

Dook - I will have to check out the jets the carbs have in them now, but it shouldn't be a problem for me to get it back running after I put the stock airbox on.

MCRider - Unfortunately the cables aren't in the box but the upper brake line is (although I might upgrade those to stainless before riding it).  I plan on replacing the brake lines and cables before riding it though.
I have not had a chance to see it run with any load on it yet.  It was an estate auction and they only ran it for a couple of minutes.  It sounded pretty good but you could see there was a float problem because the fuel was coming out of the overflow after a couple of minutes.

Hinomaru - I like the idea of getting the original bars and if I can find a set, I will probably end up going that route.  However, has anyone had any luck drilling / grinding holes for the wiring in other handlebars that have about the same look and shape.  I am not sure if drilling those holes would make the bars to weak.

Yep - I drilled a set of bars I fitted to my K2/K3 (K2 to USA - but K3 as sold here in NZ). The original bars are too high for a comfortable riding position in my opinion. So I bought some lower, other brand of bars here - cost for $40. Drilled them with drill in a press on my bench. Not hard. See pic.

Well if the auctioneer revved it up at all and it didn't fill the room with smoke, you're probably all right. But I see a ported head and 836cc kit in your future...

Beauty. Looks like that's about to become your favorite bike. Always liked those point covers. Sure seems like the season to buy CB750s nice ones too.

The approximate handlebar dimensions are: Width 31.5", Rise 6.25", and Pull Back 4.75". This will vary a bit depending on the "K" production model, see this thread for more info:

Thanks for the replies.  I think I am going to have to end up buying a close aftermarket size and drilling it out.  However, I will keep looking for the original while I am at it.

I will do my best to take pictures and show everyone what I end up with.
