Topic: 70 Today here in Chicago , Anyone else get in a quick ride ???

Hey ,

I figured some other CB'ers were doing the same thing as me today.
Either working on their scoots, or riding them.

I got a girlfriend outta town saturday all to myself, and it happen to be a balmy 70 degrees....
Spent some time driving the ol' 55 around, then my attention turned to the CB.
Got the pipes wrapped up, and took the bike out for a good hour or so ride around the neighborhood.

2006 Riding season has begun !!!
Anyone else get some seat time in today ??

I got in a quick FIRST ride on mine this evening before dark        .......well.....had to come home in the dark.

 I had it ready last night. Finally got all the electrical gremlins out of it, got my makeshift homemade taillight/tag mount on and was dying to ride it today. Was a nice 78* here......but the wife had to take her mother to the grocery store, so  I had my 8yr old son for the day and just my luck she got back 10 minutes AFTER it started raining....HARD.  Then we had to go to one of our friends sons' birthday party which started at 4.

We managed to get back about 30 minutes before dark and it had quit raining so I fired up the bike and rode over to my Moms about 3 miles away to put some air in the tires. Would have liked to rode awhile longer but after the rain the fog started rolling in so I came on back to the house.

Its supposed to be 80 here tomorrow so Im gonna put some shakedown miles on it and hopefully ride it to work Monday.

I managed to get my first ride of the season in earlier in the week. Things hung in there this week weatherwise, actually got in three days of riding this week including today. Around 60F, but sunny. Not bad at all.

Spent most of the afternoon masking and painting my 550 engine with the doors open. Turned out great!! DupliColor 500 degree aluminum is wonderful stuff! Have to get the engine in the frame, it is front of my other 550 .

It's been nice up here too - I put on close to 1000 kilometers since last Saturday.  

During this time of year in and around Toronto the roads (if they're free of snow) are typically covered with a lot of residual salt, gravel grit, and assorted garbage left over from winter.  This year they are remarkably clean, all things considered.  

This is my first spring on a motorcycle.  Last fall I had the experience of flying through the air beside my little bike after hitting a patch of sand so I am extremely pleased with the relatively "sandless" conditions so far this spring. Anything that helps to cut down on hospital time is a good thing, I think.

Did a 230 mile run today.But it was on my zl1000 with my bro with his 05 1100 sabre.IT WAS 87 out.GOT THE UPCOMING WEEK OFF FROM WORK.I hope to finish the k5.Well thats my plan.

yeah it was really nice here in chicago land.  unfortunately i missed it as my exhaust isnt currently attached to the bike...

Did a quick 20 miles or so this afternoon. Did a couple of errands, stopped for a late lunch, visited an injured friend (got knocked off his Harley with his wife by an SUV - bad situation, however, fortunately it looks like they will both recover completely) then returned home. Not sure exactly what the temp was here in central Jersey, mid 60's or higher, maybe. Nice day to ride. Unfortunately tomorrow they are forcasting scattered showers and thunder showers. With my situation, none of the bikes were properly winterized, so it was dicey. Said I was going to ride the first thing thing that started. So the SOHC4 remained in the storage unit and the stroker in the shed behind the house (Yammie RD350) came out. ..hey, it was the closest and it started right up.

Good ol' Chicago weather strikes again.
They are forecasting snow here by mid-week.
Only in the great Midwest !

If the long-range weather forecasts are to be believed, it looks grim her in Mich. for the rest of the month, several days of snow in the forecasts, not rain or snow, just snow.
