New throttle cables question
« on: August 26, 2010, 02:31:43 PM »
I just bought two new throttle cables for my '72 750K. Should I try to lubricate them with something before installing them?
If so, what to use?  Thanks

No need to lubricate new cables. Many times that will cause more problems as dirt will then stick to the lubricant and build up.

I do not lubricate my throttle cables (motion Pro) they have a plastic liner which should eliminate the need for additional lubrication.

Lubrication brings with it the ability to retain contaminates, which then work themselves into the cable.

Be careful to avoid creating any sharp bends as this will make the cables hard to pull.
