I've been wondering to myself why, rather than spending 400 bucks (plus) getting the transmission undercut, I can't just hook up my new Dyna rev limiter that's been sitting in a box for the last couple of years?
From my limited knowledge of racing transmissions, undercutting the gear dogs stops a bike jumping from out of gear and over-revving, possibly leading to engine damage, and an adjustable rev limiter will stop an engine from over-revving by cutting the spark at a determined RPM, if my bike jumps out of gear.
Sooooo, I'm leaning towards just using the rev limiter at this stage, unless someone here wants to chime in and tell me more about why I need to get the transmission undercut? I won't be racing my 1060cc bike, so a missed shift is neither here nor there, as long as no damage is done. Cheers, Terry.
