Things that make you go hmmmm.
« on: August 27, 2010, 10:16:34 AM »
Why is it that my 1976 Honda CB750 is always getting rode, waxed and polished, and tinkered with, while my 1997 Harley Davidson Wide Glide that I have tons of money invested sits in the corner of my garage collecting dust? The Harley is a great bike, but I just enjoy riding my K6 so much more. I guess this just proves what good bikes these old Honda's really are.

That's what Harleys were designed for- two rides- one at the beginning of riding seaon and one at the end.

And they are only to be ridden around the neighborhood, never on the highway, that would enrage the boomer's wife and scare the feces out of the boomer equipped only with Dockers pants, a t-shirt or other wacky Hawaiian shirt and loafers.

Same thing here.
I've got a 1984 Shadow 700 that's in great shape, my father-in-law was the original owner and is very meticulous with maintenance and gentle on machinery.

But, it's got less than a hundred miles on it this year.
My primary ride is my '07 Bonneville, but as I'm getting the '74 550 sorted out it is competing more and more for saddle time.
It's still not completely tuned nor 100% reliable, so it stays close to home, so far.

I think next year it's going to be 50-50 between the Bonnie and the CB.\
That Shadow is a great bike, but it's definitely second (third) fiddle.
