I've been lurking on here for about a month so i figured its about time I introduce myself. I just recently purchased my first bike, a 1976 CB750K. I actually purchased it from another member on here. We'll see if he speaks up.
First a little background on myself. I live in Lincoln Nebraska and I'm 28 years old, originally from Nebraksa and I probably always will be. I've always wanted to get into riding but for various reason I was never able to take the first step. Last year I finally decided to make a move. I got a decent helmet and took the MSF course. Done. Now all I needed was decent bike without breaking my wallet. Well, my cousin and a buddy of mine from college have been riding CBs for a few years. One night I call up my cousin and ask if he would be willing to take a look at bike with me. I think it was a 77 or 78 yamaha xs750 triple with an 850 engine from a 1980 model. Kinda beat up but the ad said it ran good. The guy was asking $900.00. I thought he was asking a little too much and it just didn't feel right, so I let it go. The next day my cousin sends me a text, he tells me him and his buddy are selling a 76 CB750K. I go take a look and take it for a spin. Feels good and I feel better buying from someone I know.
Sometime it the bikes past it got painted flat black, its got a few dings but looks good for having about 42k miles. When I picked it up it had aftermarked turnsignals on the rear and an aftermarket taillight. I recently wired up some front turn signals/running lights to match the rear. I was also told it has a larger rear sprocket than stock. If I counted correctly it is a 48 tooth. Which is great for zipping around town but out on the highway I'm cruising around 4,000 rpms at 60 mph. I may swap that out later on for a smaller size. For now I'm just having a blast riding around and getting as much practice in as I can. It also has a new seat cover, electronic ignition, and 4 into 1 exhaust. I don't have any recent pictures of her right now, but as soon as get some I'll post them up.
Anyway, I'm glad to find such a great forum with a ton of information and great people. I'm sure I'll have some questions down the road.
See ya,
Joel
