idleing issue

Ive got a 1974 ts 100 that just wont idle ive ajusted the idle screw both ways and it will idle for 30seconds-to a minute and then it makes a sound as if its gasping for air and give it more throttle and it doesnt help it will stay running if i old the choke down it idles fine. Im lost????? help?

Indicative of a blocked jet or air leak.  Pull the carb and check all jets and passages, then make sure the insulator boot is sealing.  If that doesn't work, you could have a bad crank seal. Hope it is the simpler repair!
