If it's a 550 you can get it out of the frame fairly simply, plus it's lighter than the 750.  If it's a 750, you'll probably have an easier go at loosening the bolts that hold it to the frame, setting it on its side, and taking everything apart.  
If your chain has a riveted master, you can cut it off.  If it's got a clip type master, just take off the clip.
