What's a good rye?
« on: September 09, 2010, 07:14:17 AM »
My buddy's b-day is coming.
He likes rye (not the faux Canadian stuff)
I want to get him a bottle.

What's a good one?

I enjoy Crown Royal....but if I am mixing it is either Canadian Club or Wisers deluxe...

I am no expert though!

Plenty of good choices, but it's like asking whats the best brand of tire or oil you'll get plenty of different opinions.

3 of the top choices in no particular order in my opinion would be Wiser's Deluxe, Gibson's Finest and Crown Royal.  Please for the love of Pete DON'T buy CC (Canadian Club) or Five Star, it's Horse piss and does baaaaad things to you, don't ask me how I know.

Cool.

I'll look for BMH.
Didn't know about Irish being mostly rye. I'll look into it.

Someone pointed me toward Sazerac....
