Pics-shorty shocks installed?
« on: April 09, 2006, 09:41:58 PM »
Anybody have any?  I'm trying to get my 550 slammed and wondering what the drop w/ them looks like.

My 1972 CB500/4 with 11" short shocks and lowering blocks.........plus the internals of the front forks have been machined to lower the bike 2-3" in the front.

I have HD shocks on the back of my CB, but they are the same length as the "short shocks" you see for sale.. Pics in my gallery....

Nothing done to the front end of mine yet.  The best and lowest I've got with the bike was to  take the springs off and run it with just the struts.  Looks cool but not the best for the back.

I have to ask this again, but don't you bottom out with the short shocks AND a 1'' lowering block ? With my setup now (just the shocks) , i have a had the tire hit the inner fender a few times.
Not that I am a fatass (200lbs.) , but I am all about getting the bike as low as possibile.

I also plan on running a 130mm tire on my new 16'' rear wheel. I am sure that will change things in the rear...

Maybe it is because the front-end has been internally lowered ?

PT.......yeah....it will probadly bump the rear fender....but i'm okay with that. This bike is still tucked away in the corner of the shop waiting to be finished. I'm probadly just like everyone else on this board....too many bikes...not enough time. ;D

DD.......no the frame is stock.....no cutting. I think the way the bike is leaning and the angle of the photo gives it that look. I did have to put a sharper bend in the side stand to allow the bike to lean over correctly.....due to it being lowered. There are a ton of pics on my website of the bike.....feel free to take a look.
