Finally got a set of rings for the old 750, and they seem awful close when in the bore. Checked my manual, and it lists nothing about what is too tight a gap, just what is too big.

Anyone know how much of a gap I need? They're NOS rings, standard bore. I thought they'd be right out of the box, but...

I always used 0.018" ring end gap, what have you got?

Not sure, but it has to be less than that. .018 sounds good. A set of valve springs and some gaskets, ans I have an engine again. Woo-hoo!

.004" for every inch of bore in general

If they are original Honda i doubt that the gap is wrong
