Hi Rob,

No problem, from the centre of the axle to the beginning of the recess is 440mm.
The width is 265mm and if i remember correctly the offset to the left is 10mm but my frame is at school so if you really want to know you'll have to wait until tomorrow.

K7 seems to be same dimensions as F2, length pivot to begin of recess 17 5/16" (440m/m) and width 10 15/32" (266 m/m).
OEM K2-K6 shocks 330 m/m, with longer swing would go up to 360 m/m. But that's me.

The difference I've noticed between my K1/K3 and my F2 is that the mount for the shock on the swingarm is 3/4" further back on the F. What this means I haven't a clue.

It changes the shock angle, to a supposed better position for the rear suspension to work, it was a common mod for racers in the 70's and is still done on post classic racers today....

Hi Sam, on my F frame the top support is in the same place as my K, i think they are all the same as far as the top mount goes.

10.2.1A states "Modifications must be consistent with the spirit of the class."

I'd say you're good to go.

Great discussion! One question - can the longer F2 swing arm be fitted to an earlier K (K2 specifically) with no modifications except longer chain? Or will brake stay also have to be changed?

Andy,

No mods needed for mounting. But a brakestay has to be mounted to underside of swing. On a F2 the stay is on top.

If the answer is yes to it fitting, then you'll have problems as the anchor point for the disc is on top of the arm and for the drum it's underneath. Beam me up Scotty

Oh, but you must read further.

Section10.3.1 Formula 750 Eligible bikes built prior to Dec 31st 1972

CR/RC SOHC 750 Hondas in stock frames with unmodified swingarm.

So by the book, answer is NO. (because you are installing a newer swingarm)

But in reality, there is no one at AHRMA who would know the difference and with two strokes now allowed into class..it will be a joke within a year anyway!

Also, with Will "the Pill" Harding calling the shots when there is a protest, he could'nt make a decision his life depended on it.

I say...go for it but don't do any bracing that they can see.

You will have to change the shock mount on your frame.

to accommodate the corresponding amount of increase in sprocket carrier? So what would be the easiest modification?
