Cam I.D.

Cam has a hand engraved label on the flat spot.
Says "Norris RX3".

Anyone familiar? Is this stock like stuff or more?

I haven't researched it yet. Not sure where to start looking.

He sent it to me in an email. Just didn't go through. Got it now.
Thanks brother!

So I ran the 1000 motor today for the first time since I have had it. It is supposed to have a 1030 or 1060 kit in it. The cylinders are welded shut so there is something in there. But when I ran the motor it seemed pretty docile and super smooth. I did use a brand new Dyna and coils. New plugs and wires as well. Started right up using some old round top carbs. I was quite surprised how stock it sounded. Maybe I'm just expecting something in the sound it isn't ever gonna be there.

Cam specs are duration 300 on I and E. Lift 380 on I and E.

We had some, but I think we were not allowed to have it anymore in California.

I forget the name of the stuff, but when we went to reorder, we werew told it was no longer available here. California has very strict air quality standards. There is still other stuff available like what Web Cam uses. I believe we have some of that.

If I had to venture a guess, I'd think it was some kind of flouropolymer suspended in a VOC base.
Take care,
David

I either have to stop using this nickname, or find a quicker way to tell the story...

Parents wanted a physician in the family, and gave me the hopeful first two initials of D and R. My little brother's initials are M and D. Needless to say, life didn't take either of us in that direction. However, I did spend a lot of time in the company of medical personnel as an Army Reserve Medic and subsequently a Reserve Officer commanding a medivac unit attached to a combat support hospital.
Take care,
David
