CB750 K4 Clutch Adjusting Bolt...
« on: January 19, 2010, 07:33:49 PM »
Hello yet again,

In the process of removing my clutch cover, I managed to 'bugger' the tip of my clutch adjusting bolt.  The bolt has a slotted end.  I tried to hold the bolt in place while I removed the nut that keeps everything together.  In the process of trying I buggered the slotted end.

I did manage to remove the entire assembly, but I'm just wondering about this adjusting bolt.

If I were to replace it... How does it come out of the metal piece that it is installed in?  Honda calls it the 'Clutch Release Shaft'.

It didn't turn out freely, so I thought I'd ask before I completely destroy the part.  I could re-use it as it is, I'd just need to clean up the threads a little before re-assembling.  Or, I could try to find another.

I could post a photo if that would help.

Thanks!  Scott.

the slotted adjuster bolt must be screwed inward (clockwise) to remove it (seems backwards) Once you screw the slotted bolt in far enough, you'll see an o ring towards the other end. After that point, it gets easier to turn the rest of the way till its out.

Hey, I was reading this and was curious as to where one would buy a new clutch adjusting screw. I managed to strip both the nut and the screw trying to adjust the clutch. I have replaced the nut but I am unable to find the screw for my 1972 CB750 I am not even sure if you can use one from a later year.
