You should check the centerstand and find out what the problem was for the previous owner.

There is a trick of inserting washers (or coins) between the coils.  This done while on the centerstand, spring extended.  When the stand is retracted (spring collapsing), the spring is unloaded and longer.  (I may have found the trick on this forum).

That way you can check out the stand without preload and see what isn't right.

Superb yet stupidly simple trick to avoid a lot of swearing and shredded skin.

St Joseph, Range. I'm not sue how far that is. I get to ride along the lake and watch our gorgeous sunsets!

I really think we have the best sunsets on earth - all courtesy of Chicago's air pollution of course! :D

Sounds like you're too far to come by and have me take a look at it.

I grew up in Chgo, you could smell the air as you drove into Chgo.

Since you're in Texas, you'll know that I'm a damn Yankee.  A true Texan would know the diff. between a Yankee & damn Yankee.  Bike still registered in TX.  Long Story.

Thanks anyway!

Today the back tire gave up the ghost so I'm grounded until bikebandit comes through with the booty.
