Great pics!  The one with the random guy in the wife-beater made me laugh.

I thought the bridge was quite impressive.  I've seen several covered bridges, but that one was the longest by far.  Here's some info on it...

Man, could that have come off any better? Only if we'd all been on SOHC/4s! But 3 was pretty good. I ended up near 300 miles. Same for Jay and Chris, and Joe and Rose I'll bet.  Mark and Shay did near 500! Really nice pics, especially at the 3 CBs at the historic Story Inn.  Here's mine.
Starting point:

Jay and his CB750:

Mark and Shay passed us soon going the other way, turned around and hooked up with us, 6 in all. Made our way down the route. Beautiful weather and scenery, morning light thru the canopy was like riding thru a strobe light. Every one liked Salt Creek Road, one of my favorites, I've got many more. Soon we were going down 135 and stopped at the Historic Story Inn. In the pioneer days, Story was the midway point between the Ohio River and Indianapolis on the wagon trail now known as Hwy 135. The Inn was the general store, now its a gourmet restaurant with outdoor cafe. And the upstairs, now a bed and breakfast, was the Studebaker factory and repair shop for wagons and early cars. Fitting to have our "historic" CBs parked in front with the vintage gas pumps.

We proceeded South, Hiway 135 lived up to its reputation. At Freetown we turned West on 58, coming soon to the 58 Cafe. Its a local cafe started in 2006, servicing locals during the week and motorcyclists on the weekend. Notice the posters on the walls.

After an early lunch, we carried on. On 450 was the Williams Covered Bridge. See Chris's link for info.

That's at about the halfway point, and I didn't take any more pictures, but we had a great time, no problems, best of times!

You never know how these things might go, but from my perspective, we'd hardly ever even met except for on the forum, and it seemed like we'd been riding together for years.

I mentioned this railroad viaduct on our trip the other day. It's in Greene County and I believe we were in very close proximity to it. Have to check it out next time. According to the website I posted below, the supports rise 180 feet from the valley floor and according to an Indiana Geological Survey article, the combined length and height make it the third largest structure of its kind in the world. 8)

that's cool, it doesn't look heavy enough to carry trains. Did you notice in one of the pics, the narrow gauge tracks are still in place between the modern tracks?

I must be pretty awesome to drive a train across that

I'm booked for the balance of October. Domestic responsibilities on Saturdays and Shop time Sundays. I knew i would be that's why i wanted to make 9/25 seriously.

But don't let that stop you.

I've been known to ride in november. Windshields and electric vests come in handy.

Hope you guys go to Story, you'll probably need early reservations. Linda and I have stayed there twice in the B&B.

I rode probably 20 years thinking stuff like elecrtics were foo foo. Linda bot me an electric vest for Valentines day one year and I've never looked back. Adds 2 or 3 months to the season.

Already made reservations for a couple days in December... we figured that Nashville, IN would be a good place to hit up during the day.

We had stayed for a couple days in Story earlier this spring and it was a blast.  Glad this trip reminded me about it.
