Complete power loss
« on: September 09, 2010, 09:50:49 AM »
I just got my bike ready for inspection, was on my way and the engine totally crapped. When it stayed running wouldn't go but a couple mph. On the way it seemed like it didn't want to go over 50. Just "adjusted" the cam chain by clymers, loosen adjusting nut rotate crankshaft while retightening. I've seen the threads on doing it but doesn't seem quite like mine. Rebuilt the engine, but still got a bad oil leak, was going to wait till winter. Also just had the carbs rebuilt by cyclex. Any ideas?? I think the bike is cursed.

I suspect you ran out of gas.

Thanks guys, I had my wife bring me gas, she hates me!  Also had to bring my truck to get mc home.  But I'll take the hose off and check.

Ok, gas is flowing great but bike will only stay running with lots of throttle but dosen't rev very high. carbs right. Im a carb idiot (that's why I sent them to cyclex). So there are 2 screws on the underside one with plastic knob , right?  any thing else?
