Hello from the Netherlands; city off Venlo
« on: September 07, 2010, 05:18:56 AM »
Hi,

My name is Rob and I own a CB750F2 1979 and a CB650C from 1980. I love to work on those old bikes and every ones in a while I got stuck, then you will find me on the forum. Why, because it is a huge set of knowledge from other CB fans. I hope to add some knowledge when I can to this forum and will most surely get a lot of handy tips from it.
About me: I'm 47 years old happily married and I have got a son (21) that also rides a bike (bandit 650) and a daughter that just got here car driverslicense but wants to get her motorcycle license to. My wife rides the CB650 and I myself the CB 750.
For pictures you can look on: http://www.flickr.com/photos/robblok/

Kind regards Rob Blok
Greetings, Honda CB750F2 & Honda CB650Ca

Welcome from NY! You have come to the righty place.

But we were boys, and boys will be boys, and so they will. To us, everything was dangerous, but what of that? Had we not been made to live forever?

Hello Rob Blok,

Nice bikes. Good job on the 750. It is interesting to see the model variations between countries. You may want to keep that in mind when posting. A F2 in the US would be 1977 and they were only black and Candy Antares Red. Then the F3 which Europe didn't receive (I think) was 1978. Same colors. The Candy Sapphire Blue was for 3 months only in 1975 but with different stripes. I don't believe there were any 75's sold in Europe either. None were sold as 1979's here.

Your country should take great pride in how the American War Cemetery is maintained. Thanks to your countrymen. Very touching. Some of our fathers/grandfathers may rest there. My father served in the Pacific Theater.

Let us know how we can help. Looking forward to your input too.

Jerry
As of today 3/13/2012 my original owner 75 CB750F has made it through 3 wives, er EX-wives. Free at last.  ;-)

Hello Jerry,

Thanks for the compliments on the bike, and I will keep in mind all the differences between the country versions.
And yes, we do take pride in maintaining and cherish our War Cemeteries, because without the allies the world would look a lot different now and I don't think any better  :-\

Kind regards Rob

PS
To be complete, the war cemetery on the Picture is in Belgium, off course we do have quite a lot of war cemeteries in the Netherlands as well.
