help identifying engine
« on: October 07, 2010, 05:33:51 AM »
Hi guys, I have recently bought a "barn find" bike. The bike has been customised heavily over the years and not just with Honda parts. I have an engine number CB750E 2559501 and im struggling to find model and year? Can anyone out there help?

Assuming this is a CB750....  Here's a place with engine and frame numbers. http://www.hondachopper.com/engine/k_series/k_classification.html.  It seems you are K6-ish but I don't find a direct match.

Take a look at the steering stem neck in front of the fuel tank. There should be a tag there that has the serial number and in the corner a month and year like 11/72. That will give you the build date and get you close.
