Yesterday I did. Got about 50 miles in with the new D9EA plugs and 3.0 slides. She is running GREAT! I got it up to 120ish which it has never been able to do. Runs great. Jeff said he will throw it on the dyno for one pull just to verify the changes. We will be there Saturday morning so you better show up. Tiges bike is gonna be cool to see up there.

Yup, I am really happy with my CR's now. Even the idle is happy around 1500 rpm. Before I had to keep it at 2000.

An excellent thread with really useful info, and of course a superb end result, well done.
A quick question for you on the rebuild, I notice from the pictures that you did not use the 4 "domed" cylinder head nuts but did use the copper washers, the manual is quite specific saying you must use the domed nuts , did you have any problems after running the bike?

Thanks for reading my thread. I did use the domed nuts and copper washers. I believe you could get away without using them though. I think they are just to protect the threads from the elements.

If you don't know how to tune them ......................................................

I will tell you what guys. My bike with the CR29 carbs and all the tuning adjustments we have made is running FANfrigginTASCTIC! It idles great, starts great, and screams like a virgin on prom night. I am very happy. VERY HAPPY! I think with all the tinkering the CR's are VERY streetable carbs. There is no way I could have done it without this forum and ALL the people that I have met because of it. THANKS EVERYONE that has contributed.

May thanks for the info on the domed nuts, it was just that your pictures with the cylinder head on show the 4 copper washers with normal nuts on, however if it works thats good for me. Thanks again

Good Eye for detail!

That was during the initial install. After I changed the head gasket I installed the domed nuts. Not sure what I was doing there.

Thanks Ron. I have really learned a ton from this build. This site has made it ten times easier for sure. I am hoping my current project La Flama Blanca turns out half as nice.
