Could fab up a mount for the fork slider from a steering damper mount or a bracket off a lower fork mount bolt.

Spiffy, that is the pilot jet hole.  There is nothing in that picture to remove, but if yours has something in the hole, it's the pilot jet.  Just grab the jet with pliers and pull straight out.

Well if you could pull it off that would be awesome. I think Bart is riding down and he lives in Vancouver BC now.

So today TAO got a little attention. The last couple weeks the temps have really dropped in the AM and it's been taking longer for my engine to warm up and the starter has been slipping a bit more so I figure it's time to change oil viscosity. I have been running Amsoil 20-50 over the summer and have been pretty happy with it except I hate paying $50 for oil. I am switching back to Rotella  T6 5-40 over the winter. This is the oil I started with after the rebuild and was happy with it but wanted to give the more expensive oils a try. I have tried Redline, Valvoline VR1, and now Amsoil. So far the cheaper Rotella diesel oil has lived up to all the hype as far as I am concerned.

Anyway.... I pulled the plugs today as well (NGK DR8EA) and am pleased with how they look. Looks like the jetting is spot on. I also decided to make a new throttle return spring for my CR29's. The spring they come with is pretty flimsy and I have been having a hard time adjusting the throttle action without way more free play than I prefer. The new spring I made seems to snap the throttle much better and the free play is much more acceptable.

What are you doing with that open elbow? (see below I'm assuming)

And while I'm at it what part did you use for the idle adjuster? I still need to do that as well as the open ventilation line that would normally go to the airbox.

Hi Jerry!
First things first.... Why does your screen name say "aka MuthaFer"? Thats hilarious!

That elbow on the breather cover is a Power Brake Booster Check Valve (Dorman #80190)
I am using this instead of a breather hose or filter. A little tip I picked up from  Doctor D. It breathes air out but prevents anything from going in. You can pick them up at any parts store.

I'm the F mother and a F'er in both senses. Had my F since 4/75 and been called mutha quite often too. That just kinda came to me and I didn't want to bury my other self proclaimed title either. Can't go totally incognito. I thought that to be appropriate, huh  ;D

I knew that piece looked familiar. I was trying to think of where I'd do the filter thing. Good idea!

Dammit, are any of those little idle adjusters cheap?! Do we all assume they are over priced or is that just me?! Seems $45 to $50 is the norm.

Those adjusters are way overpriced!  I did make one modified from an old Ninja but gave it away to another forum member. I got the adjuster from Ebay for under $10. But then I had to modify it a bit. It worked fine but I just had to have the Keihin part.

Plans look like they are changing at the moment. Had some encouraging PM's from this great community and I am rethinking things. Might even have a low mileage bottom end in my hands soon. Just need a K top end in good shape. Anyone?

Well, shoot, Branden.  That's encouraging.  If I had one, I would give it to you.  Hoping someone can get Branden a top end to preserve such a beauty.

That's a tempting offer for sure! I don't think the OCD in me would be satisfied with broken fins on the engine though.
Likewise. I was about to get them welded and fixed, but a friend just gave me a clean set. Just paying forward. If nothing else comes up, offer stands. Good luck!
