To do/ shopping list for the new year (in no particular order):

~~order and~~ install brake lines
~~order and~~ install oil filter adapter
~~order and~~ install side cover grommets
~~order and~~ install grips
~~order and~~ install brake, throttle, speedo, tach, choke and clutch cables
POR-15 for tank
Paint
figure out what exhaust I am going to run, order and install
have seat made up
have cylinders bored for 836 kit
order and install valves, guides, springs, retainers and cam
order VHT engine paint and paint top end
get top end back together
finish up wiring harness and install
order and install voltage regulator/rectifier
have new oil lines made up and install
order and install new rear brake hose
order and install new battery
put clutch back together
order front sprocket and chain then install
order and install new petcock and fuel filter
order and install new air filters
install ignition
set timing
sync carbs

I think that about covers most of what needs to be done. Man, still got a ton of money to throw down and wrenches to turn.

I have a new set of stainless braided brake hoses the correct length for drag bars I ordered from the gentlemen selling them on the for sale forum. I installed these before I decided to tear the bike down if you interested. $45 shipped to you.

The "Cycle X 4-2-1 Race System" is sweet! The "Cycle X Super Sidewinder" is also nice but I like the way the 4-2-1 follows the lines of the bike!

Man, this is a tuff decision that only you can make bro. I don't think you can go wrong with any of the selected pipes just comes down to personal preference and what you want to spend. The Yamiya pipe looks great but the cost including shipping is pretty crazy, that being said I kind of wish I would got that pipe (if they made a stainless modle) The cycle x race pipe looks pretty sweet and it will be unique since not too many people are running it yet.

And your seat cowl attachment method is genius!... Can't help you on the exhaust though.... it's a tough decision as it has a lot of impact on the look of the bike.

I'd advise you have a picture of each in front of you.... look at one for a couple of seconds.... close your eyes and picture it on your bike.... now rate the quiver in you pants on a scale of one to ten.

Proceed to repeat the previous method for each exhaust system.

The one with the highest score should be the ticket!

If there's a tie.... you may have to resort to "The GODFFREY METHOD" explained here:

"I had a 3 way tie between headnut squirley and godffrey so I just wrote their names on paper and taped them to a fan. I turned on the fan and the last one still taped to it got my vote.

The sidewinders have a great look for your bike. Not sure what they sound like.

Man what a great build. My 2c on the pipes: I like the "idea" of the Yamiya yosh pipes, but I keep coming back to the CycleX pipes.
With all the black going on, (frame motor, wheels etc) I think you might need some contrast. There is such a thing as "too much black"

Those CycleX Super sidewinders really have a good look to them. The shortness of the overall pipe still has the "race" look to them.
The only thing about that set that bugs me is the collector. Seems a bit bulky and off the frame.

The CycleX 4-2-1 race system is super sexy. I think those are going to get my vote - they have the
best of both worlds: the header pipes are black - keeping the toughness of the look intact, while the chrome/stainless megaphone keeps the vintage feel.
The collector on those seem to fit up under the frame better. The megaphone really makes that pipe - much better looking than their original version of it.
Those really are great looking pipes - those guys are really starting to churn out some great stuff.

Can't wait to see the finished bike - It's sure going to look fantastic.

I like your color choice for the bike as well.....I may be partial to orange.

Finally some input! I know this is a tough decision. I have pretty much decided on the Cycle X race system but I keep waffeling back and forth and changing my mind. Its hard earned money I'm spending here and just want to be happy with my choice. I am sure I would be happy with any of the 4 I posted. greenjeans, I have drooled over your bike and especially the paint. I considered doing something with heavy flake like that. Your paint job turned out beautiful. Definately inspiring. Thanks everyone for putting in their two cents. Keep it coming!

I have the yamiya, nice flowing bends sounds goods too but it feels a bit short. Carpy's pipe looks the part and i like the upturned tail. Maybe your wheel donor will donate a sweet stainless pipe too.....

The bends appear smoother, so aside from any flow benefit, they look less harsh than tighter bends.

db? The Cycle X 4-2-1 Race System looks like the can has enough (more than the other two?!) volume to make a quiet(ish) unit.

$? If there is a God he would make sure that the one I want on my bike is the cheapest

LATE EDIT: - For the Yamiya you pay ~$490 (US /CAN /OZ all much the same now ...) and get to to choose the diameter of inner which gives you a choice of 98db for the quite Φ29mm and "100db or more" for the Φ40mm inner tube. Mmmmmmmmm ........~$500 for a very smooth exhaust ....... I wonder how long Mr Plod would leave me alone for, here in the "Nanny State".

I like the yosh styles, but that sidewinder thing looks cool, too.

there's a guy who was a yosh engineer, I think, who was making pipes for the 750 at a good price. that might be old news, though. I haven't been on here as much lately.

I can't afford to finish my bike proj, now that I'm in school. I have the engine all ready to go back togeth, but I need to order some stuff and my truck broke and money's tight... yada yada. anyways I hope to get back into it in the summer, when I can work full time again and justify blowing money on it.

your bike is gonna look killer.
