there's a guy who was a yosh engineer, I think, who was making pipes for the 750 at a good price. that might be old news, though. I haven't been on here as much lately.

I can't afford to finish my bike proj, now that I'm in school. I have the engine all ready to go back togeth, but I need to order some stuff and my truck broke and money's tight... yada yada. anyways I hope to get back into it in the summer, when I can work full time again and justify blowing money on it.

Thanks J, I really like the Yosh replica pipes too. I am pretty sure I will end up with the Cycle X 4-2-1 with reverse cone. Not as many around and its a bit different. Thanks again for the props.

Got a little more wrench time on my project. Got the front end done. Got the wiring done. Oil lines done. Clutch done . Oil filter adater installed. Rear tail light done but I had to modify it so the plate won't hit. Tarozzi fork brace done. 836 kit arrived. New F2 valves for free(thanks Cycle X!!). New skull grips installed. Finned covers powdercoated and installed. Right foot bracket hacked up and drilled then shot with gloss black powder. Chain tensioners blinged out. Stainless hardware everywhere. Cam cover now powdercoat gloss black because I was not diggin the Chromex. Its starting to look really good!

Where did you get the Tarozzi fork brace? Seems like a cheap upgrade for more front end stability and handling performance.

I love the look of just the fork brace but may end up putting on the fender if to avoid kicking rocks up into my nice new paint when that gets done!

Thanks guys! Glad I can inspire someone. I have grabbed a ton of inspiration from others builds on this site. I am really happy with the footrest brackets as well and think the holes I drilled spruce it up a bit. I am still undecided on the exhaust. This will probably be one of my last big purchases. I still need to finish ordering parts for the engine and fork out the cash for some machine work then get it buttoned up. I am also going to get the tins painted before I finally plunk down the cash on an exhaust. I am the biggest pain in the ass when it comes to making final decisions on my build and for the most part I am just winging it. I have changed my mind about a million times on paint schemes, colors, what exhaust to get, parts ect. But thats what makes the process fun for me.

Thumbs up on the foot pegs, looks like it was designed for a Yoshi replica?

The Cycle X pipes seem to be more straight out the back type setups and so I'd vote for the Yoshi because I like the up-swept look.

Juts be happy with what you choose, it's your bike.

I fabricated a upholstery pan last night using .090" 2024 T3 aluminum. I think it turned out pretty sweet and should work great.

I also managed to break my taillight lens! fuccccckkkkkk!!!!!!

Well I don't have any pictures to update but I have been busy with the bike. Against my better judement I decided to line the tank with POR-15. I followed the instructions word for word, did not rush, and made sure the tank was totally dry. The liner bubbled up after a couple days in a few spots. So after a few quarts of stripper and countless hours of rinsing shaking and looking around the inside with a flashlight I have 99% of it removed. I have two areas that are being stubborn in the very back of the tank. I have decided to take my tank to American Metal Cleaning in Portland and let them deal with it. Sounds like it will be the best option anyway. They remove all the rust as well. I have also decided to have Ginger at New Church Moto make a seat for me and she is in Portland as well so it looks like a roadtrip is in my future. I have my head and cylinders boxed up and ready to ship to Wisconsin for the Cycle X crew to do their thing with my parts. They will be boring the jugs for my 836 kit and installing all my valve train. Getting close to completion but still have some work ahead of me.

Hi.
Just want to chime in on the exhaust debate. There is a fourth and cheaper option. Use the stock headers, which are 2,5" outlet, and buy the cycle x race slip on only. I've done it myself, came out good!
