wheel question
« on: September 11, 2010, 06:32:09 PM »
I wanted to know how hard is it to respoke an old rim.  I have some rusty 1973 rims that if i can clean them up and paint them they wont look bad but would need new spokes and wanted to know how bad it would be

you need to set up a wheel truing jig and have a dial indicator to measure runout and hop. It is not that difficult to do but it sure is helpful to have an experienced person show you how to do it the first time. Good luck, Larry

Personally, I don't think it is worth it. Good spokes are not cheap.
Used wheels are readily available.

Good Luck.
