With that stripper you want to apply it with one stroke only. don't brush it back and forth.  To prolong the activity (less drying) of the stuff I will sometimes put saran wrap over the stripper after I apply it. It will get more paint off that way. To remove it just rinse with water through a sprayer. Dry and re-apply as needed. I love that stuff!

A wire brush and scraper will also help with stubborn areas. Be sure to not get that stuff on your hands. It burns!

I have a question, I bought a tapered bearing kit from All Balls so that means I need to remove these races right?

Also I just wanna make sure I am using the correct term(s) this is the bearing race on the lower triple right?



So should I dremel it or what? I heard putting it in the freezer helps too and then gently tap it out. What are your opinions?

Oh, btw, I removed my fork seals using these tools.


I just sprayed with a little PB, then placed a rag on the lip of the lower fork, and used that long tire iron there to lever it out. It came out real easy, its probably not a good thing when they come out that easy I suppose haha.

I have a pair of the fork tubes from Dime City on order. Should be seeing them late this week or early next week. I will be posting pics when I get them in and installed.

I polished my fork lowers yesterday.



Left Fork Lower


Right Fork Lower



The left fork lower I hit with silica sand in a blasting cabinet, right fork lower I sanded it down with various grit until smooth. You can see that the silica sand hit a little too hard or I hit it a little too long in some spots so the outcome is not as a fine of finish as the right lower.

After I get the desired look I will throw them in a chemical bath to remove dirt, grime, and sand (left fork lower) and replace seals etc.

I called Dime City last week if they had 550 fork tubes and they didn´t. So I called Forks by Frank this past monday and the total for new fork tubes is 259.00 USD.

In other news I purchased an exhaust from MotoGPWerks about two weeks back.
