The spark plug wires on the head are no problem, but the oil lines on the exhaust pipes are! :o :o :o

Attached are the pics of the carb you asked about, fuel is dripping out of the bottom of the part pictured.

As for the oil lines, I was limited on routing due to their length, I have some leakage from the fittings on the oil cooler so I'm going to look at this again.

Another note, the paint I used for the exhaust, header paint, not so good. It's already burning off...

There is a chance it may be a Dellortto carb.. very similar to Weber, and they get mixed up by people quite a bit..

The only markings on the carb are:
WEBER EW (top) 32 OF 1/200 (side)

If that means anything, I've done searches online and found nothing.

Its actually stamped WEBER he said.... but if that's the case 754 maybe he can use a Dellortto in its place?

Defiantly a Weber, I have the original order slip with part number, in 1980 the guy paid $66 for it.

Most Webers have changeable chokes (venturis). On carbs that have this there is a screw & locknut,  on the side of the body underneath, take that out and you can change them.  The size is the smaller part of the throat, inside the carb.

Yup, that looks like a diaphragm type accelerator pump. You have a VERY unique carb there! Most, but not all, of the Weber downdrafts had diaphragm pumps, such as DCNF, DFT, DFA, DFD, and I think at least one of the "I" series. The diaphragms vary from carb-to-carb. Chances are the diaphragm has a hole in it, and that's where the gas is leaking from, and this is the only part you need. You just need to figure out which one you need.

BTW, congratulations on getting it running!!!!!!!!!!!!! :D

When you take the pump off there's two stages with a rubber gasket between both. Both of the gaskets are worn and have holes. I'm going to call the company that sold the carb in the 80s and see if they know anything about it. I live about an hour away so I might take the carb there and show them...

Jon, regarding the pump diaphragm, measure the distance between the screws on the cover. Also, there is a steel center, sometimes with a pin about 5/16" diameter. The height of the pin varies from carb to carb. Again, pics will help.

  Can you say FIRE !!   When running a turbocharger under boost the exhaust header gets super hot.  When i run mine under hard boost you can almost see through the pipe ( RED HOT )  !!!  You do not want anything near the exhaust header at all.   ;)

You just reminded me of when a friend was adjusting the valves on his 302 while it was running. Oil was splashing onto the headers, with both valve covers off. All of a sudden, there was a "Kaa-foomph" sound, when the hot oil burst into flames. What made it even more scary was that we were in a tinderbox of an old barn. No disaster, but we were lucky. It definitely taught me how flammable hot motor oil can be!!!

 I would think some kind of braided line. But that has a plastic core line that could melt i'm sure. Which ever line you use
 i would insulate it from the heat.  ;)   Remember Jon, if those oil lines rupture and oil hits that super hot header, you
 will be toast !!  An oil fire is one of the hottest. Ever seen a top fuel dragster blow up ?  All that flame is mostly oil.
    Also not to mention the oil that hits the ground and your rear tire !  Not a fun ride for sure.  Take you time and do

your rare weber part might be super common in some fiats or alfas.

would go into a fiat or alfa forum and post a pic of the part

I am based in italy, can look up in the next car/bike swap meet if you send a good pic with dimensions.

As for the hard lines, wouldn't solid copper or stainless provide a strong enough line? I could also run them close to the fram and away from the headers.

Jon, I found an exploded diagram of a Web with 2 diaphragms in the accelerator pump as you have described. These were used on 3 barrel down-draft carbs on Porsche 6 cylinders. With any luck, those parts may still be available!!!

This is close to my idea for the Frankenbike....what order do you have the oil lines? Oil filter - turbo - oil cooler?  Is your only oil source from the original filter area? I was wondering about those blowout plugs or even right off the oil pump for mine.

Thanks Scotty, just trying to be helpful like others here on the forum have been to me.

Jon, if you haven't already, contact Alan @ Webcon and get that drawing faxed to you.  Ask if he has P/N's to go with it, even better.

Once you know what parts you need (I agree with Scotty, probably pump diaphams) I would contact turboguzzi (with pictures).  I wouldn't bet against there being parts in Italy for it, maybe even a complete NOS service kit.

Word on oil lines.  Don't use solid line unless you can isolate it from vibration.  Check out what Aeroquip has - http://www.aeroquip.cc/aeroquipperformanceproducts.aspx.  They list the specs for their different hoses.  Some have casings designed for high external heat, and hot oil inside.

Hi Frankenbike.  I've always used the clean it / cool it / use it order.  My cafe remote filter adapter setup would be perfect for this kind of application.  The oil at the galley plugs has already gone into the crank, so it needs to be filtered before then.  Oil pump might work, but you would have to block off some things internally.  Not sure it would be worth the work. ;)

Hey gents!

First off thanks for doing some digging for me and finding out some good info.
I was going through the build docs again (I have a folder that has ALL of he reciepts, notes, diagrams for wiring and hoses, carb settings everything) and found a note that reads:
"Carb for 1200cc Fiat 1400 Auto Carro, fork lift or little van. Very popular in Italy, like a F250 here."
So Tintop you're right! I will contact Alan to see if he can help.
Turboguzzi, I included pictures of the two diaphams, overall measurements are: 37mm  square, 26mm from hole to hole, metal center is 22mm and post is 4mm high. I'd like to get a rebuild kit if possible, but I need these two parts at the least. The drawing would be helpful to show which needle is which for tuning purposes.

Frankenbike, I'll have to check the order of flow tomorrow, my bike has a remote oil filter that uses a standard car filter.

Tintop, the main reason I was going to go with hard lines is I can make them my self, I'll look into the company you listed to see if they can help.

I'm not an expert but I would suggest rerouting the oil lines away from the exhaust regaurdless simply for oil life and keeping the engine cool our engines rely on oil for cooling as well as lubrication.  I would think on a turbo application this would be even more important.  Just cause the oil isn't bursting or leaking on the lines with a hard line doesn't mean its not boiling or burning on the inside of them.
