Hello from SW Michigan
« on: September 12, 2010, 06:41:06 PM »
Just bought a 1973 750K and am super pumped. I had a bike in college but had to sell it for tuition. Been looking at bikes daily for the last few years and finally picked one up. The bike is by no means show room quality but all I'm looking for is something to ride. I love the style of the early 70's CBs so I was really excited to find something real cheap. After screwin around with the idle a bit I was able to go for my first ride this afternoon. I have no mechanical training but I'm really hoping to fix what's wrong and get it looking nice again. Motorcycle have always been a life long passion of mine and I couldn't be happier to be a rider again. Looking forward to getting tips and advice from other enthusiasts...

Welcome from Texas!  Can you post some pics of the bike? Did you get a good deal??

PS. I've been to Grand Rapids, partied at the BOB!

I'll try to put some pictures up. Where is the best place to do that; I'm still working my way around the site. I think I got a fairly good deal. Paid 750 for it and will probably put a couple hundred in parts to make it look as new as possible. It has about 21k miles so I'm hoping to get more than a few good years out of it with any major money invested....

I've been to the BOB a few times... Seems like they have a place for everyone at that place....

You can register in the Gallery http://gallery.sohc4.net/main.php, post them there and point to them in any subsequent post in the forums. Alternatively, you can post them to Photobucket (or similar site) and point to them.

Good to know... I will get some up in the next day or two... Only a few nice days left in Michigan so I'll be out riding...

Does point to them mean something? Is there something I should do so that people know that I have picture up???

Wherever you post your pic, when you bring it up and display it in your browser, click on and copy the address of the link. Then come to your posting here and insert the link and highlight it, then click on the little picture icon above the reply box. It will put some delimiters around the address so it is recognized and displayed as an image. I'm not certain you need to do this last step as I think the current forum software recognizes URL's by their structure, but it might be the safe way to do it. Welcome and look forward to the pics.

Was having problems with the gallery so I also created a shutterfly account. There are alot of pictures of the seat because I am having problems getting it put together... Seems my hinges are not lining up with my seat... But that's another post....

Doesn't look like Shutterfly has a direct link code choice... or I'm just missing it... That's why I just put the Shutterfly address on the bottom of my page...

Yea... I probably should have thought of that but I have a lot of other family photo albums through shutterfly already... Maybe I'll just make a photo bucket album some day too...
