1977 cb750 supersport wheels
« on: September 13, 2010, 07:12:30 PM »
hey everyone, new to the forums. i recently picked up my first project for this winter and have already started the tear down. so far things are going pretty smoothly...or as smoothly as they can. anyways i was just curious, i really like the look of the spoke rims on the honda cb750k models and was wondering if i could switch my cornstars for them. im not sure what i would be up against and was hoping someone could offer some advice. i have searched the forms but couldnt really find an answer. any help would be appreciated. ???

I am in the process of switching to spokes currently on my 77 750f.  I am going to use 1976 cb750 hubs so I can keep the rear disc.  I have ordered Sun rims and stainless steel spokes from Buchanans.  I have the hubs but waiting on the rest of my parts to complete the switch.  I will try to document anything unusual that comes up along the way, but I may wait until the weather completely changes to winter before I complete it.

Thanks for the compliment.  I plan on keeping the powdercoated comstars for now just in case I want to switch back from spokes.

Be sure to search this site for numerous other comments about the wheel/rim options...........particularly the drivechain offset for the wider rear tire on the 77-78 models.

Not sure but you might be able to use a rear wheel from a 75/76F with a bit of teakin'...or not. A front wheel from a Wing should work as well. It's used to convert K's to a double disc setup.

Yes, I still have the rings.  A lot of people interested but no one has put up the $$ yet.
