Air tube Orientation
« on: September 16, 2010, 02:37:11 PM »
1978 cb750KK...So I have idle issues and I am first trying to get a clarification on the air tube orientation to track down my problem. I feel like they do not fit properly. I have been searching the site/ internet all day and could not find anything so i thought this would be good for anybody else who might run into this issue. Keep in mind that my bike had pods when I purchased it and that I put the air box and tubes back on without a reference. Thanks for the help everyone.

Please tell me if the following orientation is correct.

Is there a number (to indicate which cylinder) on the tube? I thought I read somewhere on this site that the number on the stacks in the airbox is supposed to be oriented to the top for proper alignment.

The only number that's on the tube is 405 which is part or the part number. I don't see any other number. I looked them up and discovered all four tubes have the same part number. I've been searching the site all day and have found nothing thus far.

The numbers are on the insulators between engine and carbs I will have to look at mine later (750K8) but I'm 99.9% sure the parts you are talking about are all the same and there is no top or bottom or left to right.

Fatino thanks for your help. I used your keywords and found the thread you are talking about. The picture that I provided is the correct orientation of the air tube that goes from the air box to carbs.

Bollingball- thanks for your reply as well and I had thought the same thing as you but come to find out that there is a specific way to place the tube into the air box. I paid the price be uase now I have to do it all over again.
