Fork tube question
« on: September 15, 2010, 12:34:59 PM »
So in the process of tearing things apart to learn and clean ive noticed my 2 front ends are slightly different. My free front end seems to be from a post 73 cb750 based on the innerds of the fork tubes. Where as the front end that was on the bike at the time of the motor blowup seems to be from a 72 and earlier. I know bike bandit isnt the greatest site but the free diagrams are nice. my question is the fork seals are different right? Because im not sure which front end im using (free one is +4 and bike one is +6) I know that the fork lowers are different but it looks like either tube can be insreted with the correct guts right? Thanks

69-76 should use the same seals.

The seals changed when the forks changed and the bracket for the caliper changed, I think . Check out this thread :

I measured my forks (roughly ) . The seals are different .
