Jetting a 83 550 nighthawk

Hey guys new to the site, and loving it. My question is, im working a friends 83 Nighthawk 550, it has pods and shorty mufflers. I need help on what jets to run. I live in Phoenix Az

Not sure of the number but Im doing the same thing and I was told to go up one size on the main jets. Still waiting for my jets to come in so cant confirm yet.

Yes one size bigger.  CV carbs are more forgiving to jet sizes.

Did the jets work? I'm looking to run pods on my bike as well, but heard  it was a major PIA on these bikes... I'll be really psyched if you guys got it working!
