Hey All:

Last week after having my cover on the bike my mirror was crooked. I reached over to straighten it, and it came off in my hand.

I have already replaced one at the dealer for about 30 bucks -- has anyone tried these?

Hows the quality of these aftermarket mirrors?

yep gordon got it in one... i use nepoleon bar end mirrors, and got the par off ebay for 30AUDthe pair, which is a bloody good price.....

go the bar end mirrors, they are horn lookin.... feel the love!!!!

I bought mine from David Silver. £14 if I recall. They look just like standard (still can't see past my elbows though!)

My experience with aftermarket mirrors is that they vibrate so much that they are useless, all you see is a blur.

All you see in originals is a blur so whats the difference?

I see perfectly fine on my originals, and the originals on my 350 and 750. I think I replaced one on the 350 (after a crash)with an aftermarket one and couldn't see a damn thing, and shortly thereafter replaced it with a factory replacement and it was clear as a bell once again. That's the difference.

Yeah, The ones in that auction do look good, but like the others said, I'd worry about vibration. I had a pair of cheap after market mirrors on an old bike of mine once. Their soul porpuse was to get by inspection... basically because they did nothing else. They were so loose that the vibrations always knocked them out of alignment.

That would be the only question I'd have for that seller - how tight are they to adjust? The tighter the better.

Personally, I have bar ends on all my bikes. You can actualy see behind you with those.

I bought a pair of 'generic' square ones from my local shop, around $15, work great, just keep em tight.

I have nothing against bar end mirrors...until I start lane splitting.

I bought a pair just like those for my CL350. I found that they had limited dexterity as far as adjusting them. And I had to tuck my elbows in to see behind me, but that might have been because of the location, not the mirrors. Vibration wasn't too bad.

Here's what my mirrors look like and I'm very happy with them. They're small and a little convex. Sure they buzz, but I'm not trying to read their license plate. My elbows are in the way too, but it's the price I'm willing to pay for something I don't even want on my bike.

Hey all:

Thanks for the replies.

I'd like to try the bar end mirrors but I'll need new bars first. My 650c has these terrible cruiser bars which point back and down a bit.

I've been meaning to do it but when the weather is nice I ride every day and haven't wanted to muck with getting new cables and all that.

Maybe this year.....

I bought some aftermarket replacement mirrors for my GSX750 Suzuki, saving $30 each over the factory mirrors.
Ended up throwing them away and buying OEM from Suzuki as they were worthless for people with sight.
Made it difficult to judge how far behind you the blue lights were.

I got some cheap emgo mirrors from jcwhitney for like $8 each. they work just better then the originals did. If you have vibration, you need mirror installation 101. You will always have a small amount of vibration but just get off your can and get a couple rubber washers and put them between the mounts and the posts if you just have to have no vibration. If you are worried about someone stealing your mirrors, get rubber coated steel washers then. You can tighten these down quite a bit and still stop extra vibration.
