Tank Emblem Question: 76 CB550K

Hello Gents,

First time posting.  I'm repainting the tank has a question about the emblem.  A previous owner had removed the emblems, filled the holes, and painted it over.  I want to reinstall the emblems.  I've just removed the first layer of the previous (sub-par) paint job and removed filling that had covered the holes.  But it doesn't look like it matches the holes on the emblems the previous owners gave me.

My question is, is there suppose to be an additional thingy to fit in between?  Or are the emblems totally wrong ones?

Yep wrong emblems. 76 550 emblems don't have visible screws. I believe the hidden pins are about 3.5" apart.
