After clearing out the garage of old bikes and sundry other rubbish I managed to persuade the missus there was room for another bike and she agreed!

Tomorrow morning 10am, I should be taking delivery of my new road bike and I genuinely cannot wait! Haven't felt like this about a bike for a long time LOL!
OK so it's not new new, it's nearly ten years old but it's shiny and red and silver and strange and exclusive and you can see the belts....can you guess what it is yet?

I can't think of anything this new with exposed belts LM, but I'm gonna guess............ Ducati? Whatever it is mate, well done and post some pics!

Well you're both on the right track - Ducati it is.....and I suppose I'm cheating a little bit because the belt covers with holes in are a Ducati Performance aftermarket modification....not the 999r though, far more exclusive

Yeah, give it up! I don't know one model Ducati from another, but my first experience working on a motorcycle was helping set the points on a 250(?) single. My job, as I recall, was to hold the flashlight.

far more exclusive than a 999r... i remember reading an article about a Duc like that, can't remember the name though, but I do remember the $70K (US) pricetag!

If you can ride one of those to its potential you must have some real talent.

Well congrats, no matter how rare it is, there's nothing like anticipating a new bike to remind one of a 6 year old's joy of seeing what's under the tree on Christmas morning. I hope it's a beaut!

Wel the photo's not mine and is a bit wobbly but she arrived safe and sound this morning. It's not an out and out mad Ducati - 900ss engine so about 75 ponies but it is very unique. Here she is then - the Mike Hailwood evolution 900.... ahhhhh!

Congrats man, IMO one of the most incredible beautiful retro bikes out there.
I love the minimalistic look paired with the beauty of the air cooled mill.
You have two keepers here, the bike and the wife.

Very good choice LMP, you do not need 170+ hp to have fun!
I truly enjoy my Voxan Caferacer too.

Nice bike!! I like Ducatis. I had a 96 SS/CR 900. I had the cheaper suspension and I regretted not going for the full on SS. Oh, well lovely engines to ride the twisties. I tweaked mine with revalued rear shock and better springs in front. I doubt that you will need to do that.

Thanks Steve - I should post pictures of my meanest Ducati - nearly completed restoration on T2 Cucciol. There's not many people can say they have a bike where the power edlivery is so sudden and mean it can twist back wheels in the frame! (OK so it's only 1.25 bhp and they are bicycle wheels)

Nice Voxan Rob - is that Honda VTR lump in there?

That is fantastic Rob, I read about Voxan bikes a few years ago and eagerly awaited their arrival here in Oz, and never heard of them again, are they still making bikes? Cheers, Terry.

Sadly the life of Voxan has come to an end!

Due to mismanagement, among other things.]
It is an amazing bike, imho much better than a Ducati because it will stay in one piece!

During comparising tests the Vox came out on top.
I bought it new in 2001, rode it for 45.000 km now without any problems other than a (Brembo) disk that had to be changed (under warranty) and a chain (Renold) that gave in within a day.
This, like my SOHC's, will stay!

Well they look brilliant Rob, what a shame they don't make them any more, I'll have to find a good used one for sale once I unload a lot of my old bikes, how many did Voxan make? And no offence to LM either, I like modern Duke's, and if I bought one, I'd like one of the DOHC Monsters, they look uber cool!

I love them monsters too Terry - take a look at Radical Ducati on Google. They're a company in Spain who take Monsters and make them even better and more wild looking. Neat stuff. They are also one of the most fun bikes to ride you'll swing a leg over!
