New bike!
« on: March 30, 2011, 09:41:09 AM »
Just picked up a 1977 CB550 Super Sport for my girlfriend. Biks is in great condition and runs smooth. This is my first old bike, is there any thing I should stock up on or keep on the bike at all times? Thanks!

Share a pic, and include the bike too... ;)

Sorry I forgot to say:

Congrats on the 550, I have thought about gettng one for my girl friend, that I haven't found yet, and hopefully let her help me work on it to whatever extent she can, then we could cruize together on old cafe's.  How much did you have to pay, if you don't mind saying?

Gas
I don't have a motorcycle, sold it ('85 Yamaha Venture Royale).  Haven't had a CB750 for over 40 years.

My wife rides the same bike and loves it!  Probably the best running smoothest honda I've ever ridden.  Good luck with it!

If you have the 77/78 carbs, keep your eyes peeled for a set of the earlier 74-76 carbs. Some parts for the later ones can be hard to find.
