Hesitation Blues - Another new quirk to make me nuts!
« on: September 20, 2010, 04:07:09 PM »
Twice today, my 73' 750 seemed to take a very long time to rev up, between 1st and 2nd,  but would eventually "unstick" itself. I pulled over and let it idle for a minute or so each time.  Oil level and gas level were fine.  So folks, take a wild guess at what could be going on with my bike. This is the first time it's ever done this. Thanks

How wild would like the guesses?

Any tune up history?
Have you looked at spark plug deposits?

OK, I'll guess.  You were traveling through pockets of time "worm holes" that effected your perception of a "long time". ;D

Rust in the tank  ???  What was going on while it "took a long time" chugging and wheezing???

Sounds reasonable to me ;)

Seriously though, could be mis-firing due to plug wires arcing to ground, debris in the carbs, water in the gas...

Grease your auto advancer weights. ;D and check with Dr Who about wormhole travel. :D
I think the thing I most like about motorcycling is the speed at which my brain must process information at to avoid the numb skulls who are eating pies, playing the ukulele, applying make-up etc in the comfort of their airconditioned armchairs as they make random attempts to kill me!!!!!!!

After those two events, it ran like a top the rest of the ride. I'll pull the plugs and check them out for starters. It probably hasn't had a tune up since around Feb or March, I bought it in early June, so it may be time for that also.  I'll see how it does this morning on my way to work, cross your fingers for me!
