Fender G-DEC3-30 guitar amp
« on: September 19, 2010, 03:33:00 PM »
Has anybody played with one of these? I got one friday but have not had time to learn much about using it yet. Of course the manual is missing from the box, so I will get one monday. The online manuals are not updated to this model yet. It has pre-sets to duplicate many different sounds and backing tracks to play along with, an SD port and an interface to connect to my laptop. looks like fun, when I finally get good enough to record something it will do that too.

The software has problems with my vista. I have downloaded the software but then it's not there after. I try to download again but the computer says it already exists. Fun! I got on the fender forums and it seems I's not the only one with issues. So far I would say to avoid it until the bugs get worked out.

I got it downloaded, I'm not the computer savvy geek I Would like to be but it was my firewall keeping it out. The on screen controls are OK and it models a lot of different amp sounds. My instructor is a little wary, I think because he doesn't have one and isn't familiar with it. He just said don't forget to be a guitar player and not a techie. I did play along with a backing track, I think it's going to be a good short term substitute for playing along with a group. The online fender forums seem to be helpful also.
