Took a test ride on both yesterday. The BMW dealer just took a photocopy of my license and said to be back in an hour and don't wreck it!
The Honda dealer took a refundable $500 dollar deposit, sent someone out with me, and only gave me 15 minutes! The CBR is a nice, well built bike, but killed my wrists...in 15 minutes! The BMW fit me like a glove, and only made my wrists ache a little, and not until the end of the hour. The BMW was light years away from the Honda in handling and feel, and power. I just felt safer and more comfortable on the BMW. It was more settled in the corners and with the switchable power modes a joy to ride. The Honda was just buzzy and frenetic feeling.
So I got my money back, went to the BMW dealer, and put down a deposit on the S1000RR. My 2011 Thunder Gray/Black one is on a boat heading to New Jersey from Germany.
Now to keep my K8 and F2 from getting jealous! Maybe new tires, girls like new rings!
