Did I post on the wrong forum?
« on: September 21, 2010, 06:06:00 PM »
I was wondering if I posted on the wrong forum or is my question not explained well?
I just got this bike and found that it had this problem.  I was wondering if this is a common problem with these bikes and are they known for having issues?  Thanks

I am having problems with my '84 Honda Magnum 700.  Gas was leaking out of the overflow under the seat.  I found one needle seat on the outer most carb where the needle was not shutting off because of corrosion.  Now it does not leak, but it starts for about 3 seconds then stops.  Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Jim

You're on the right forum...as far as this site is concerne. There may be a few here that know about your bike, but you may get more volume on a Magnum site.

Searched and found http://www.v4hondabbs.com

i Don't know anything about it but it's available.

This site is mostly 69-78 SOHC's but they do dabble is just about everything you can think of.  And there some truly sharp people on this site.

I don't have a motorcycle, sold it ('85 Yamaha Venture Royale).  Haven't had a CB750 for over 40 years.

Does your bike have a vacuum-operated fuel shutoff valve?  Honda became fond of those in the 80's.  If so, check for leaks in the vacuum hoses.
