Asking the folks at capitolhillseattle.com to post the flyer. If it's still in the neighborhood more folks will see it there than on all the light posts in a 10 block radius.

Thanks for the suggestions and to oldhondarider for the flyer

No problem, anything to help out.  Hope you get it back, I've seen it on my way to Top Pot a few times on Saturday mornings, did not realize it belonged to a forum member.

None. No word from any source. Might still show up but I'm keeping my spirits up imagining worse and worse ways I would hurt these guys if I caught them.

Eye stabbing is my current fave. If they found it in the Duwamish weighing down a bloated body I'd accept that as justice as well.

Getting a little angrier everyday.

Thanks for checking in though. This is the first place I'll post if it shows up.

Dang, Iggy.  I will keep my eyes peeled.

For the record, Iggy volunteered to come to my place, about 45 minutes south, to balance my carbs.  He didn't know me from Adam.  Great guy, who I enjoyed meeting.  Thanks, Iggy.  Very sorry for your apparent loss.  Again, my eyes will be PEELED.

He did the same for me, almost an hour ride over to help me balance my carbs.  Really bummed to hear your bike was stolen.  :(

Sorry to hear the bad news...

What had you done to prevent the theft?

Its one of my main concerns, having come from an environment where my key disabled an imobiliser etc on my GSXR.

Physical security is one thing (break locks, chains etc) but are there any appropriate Motorcycle Alarms on the market that wont look like you've installed a chunky car alarm/siren?

Not so impressive. Good excuse to get out and ride. And you were absolutely right in telling me to turn left leaving your place. That's a nice bit of road  :D

Not a thing. I'm thinking there was a truck or van involved or at least it makes me feel better to think there wasn't much deterrence that would have helped. Of course there's a 360 down the road that's probably worth as much in pieces but it's closer to a major intersection.

It might still turn up somewhere. We'll see.

Amazing eh, older bikes like ours are not prized by thieves here in New Zealand, in fact if left out on the street they would probably be vandalised by morons but not stolen.
I guess our criminal scum don't appreciate fine mechanical workmanship like your criminal scum!
We need some sort of GPS system, imagine knocking on the door of the thieving scum! ;D
I think the thing I most like about motorcycling is the speed at which my brain must process information at to avoid the numb skulls who are eating pies, playing the ukulele, applying make-up etc in the comfort of their airconditioned armchairs as they make random attempts to kill me!!!!!!!

I was thinking about that. Crazy but a cellphone powered by the battery would do it. Give it a call and then ask the cops to triangulate?

Cheaper than a LoJack but, yeah, I'd love to know it's location. That would make for great fun.

I think the lesson here is I won't put another machine on the street without theft insurance.

Y'know, could you get one of those el cheapo pay as you go phones from Wally World and hide it somewhere?  I don't know how you'd get the carrier to triangulate it though.

Hmm, on second thought, maybe just connect the ringer to a blasting cap and some ANFO!
Then if your bike is stolen, make the call, drive toward the boom and look for the crater!   ;D ;D ;D

I'll certainly keep an eye open for your bike. I do hope the bastard gets caught and you get the bike back in good shape. Check craigslist & ebay for someone selling parts too.

Just a bump on this. Been a couple months now and, although the cops have busted some car theft and bicycle rings lately, they tell me there are no CB750s stripped of vins and plates sitting in a lot anywhere they know of.

Been keeping a close watch on CL and eBay for the only identifiable bits on the bike since it was mostly stock. More eyes are better of course so maybe, in your travels on the internet, if you see these, let me know.

Mirrored dual disks with a swept pattern

Debadged header wrapped Kerker with a worn spot on the 3 pipe where I didn't zip the speedo cable back out of the way and a scrape on the can.

The only other identifiable bits I can think of are:
The tank has a dent in the left hand side where the bars slammed into it when it got knocked over by a crap motorist. Also it's been Kreemed.

The carbs still had permanent marker on the bodies - 1,2,3,4 - airbox side - and the number 3 carb has a JBWeld repair where the PO punched a hole in it with a screw driver or something. Some gouges to boot.

I know it's a complete and utter hail mary at this point but weirder things have happened. Thanks for looking.

Post a wanted CB750 ad on Craigs and when they show it to you, calmly walk away and call in the guys with the guns.  You get the bike, they go to jail, all is well.

I just searched Craigslist (the entire east coast) for ya... unfortunately... nothing.  No bikes or parts matching your descriptions.

Dave

Oh, how I HATE a thief!

'Been a while now. 'Likely disposed of or parted out. Such a shame!!!! 'Likely some dopehead wanting another "fix". They'll kill for a five dollar bill!

I might have helped had you posted a substantial reward at the outset. The cops just don't hunt stuff unless there is a reward. Even then, a bike is almost like a "needle in  a haystack".

We all hate this for you. I know how angry I would be in your position.

So very sorry, Dave. 'Still hope you'll get lucky and get it back.

Dave?  ;D I'm just not relishing trying to find another machine. It took 6 months to find that one and a year to get it up and going and I don't want to be 45 before I ride again.

I actually hope it is a meth head. If someone stole it to keep it that kind of pisses me off harder.
