The 550 lives! Oh crap, is that my fresh oil?
« on: September 24, 2010, 09:57:05 AM »
I did some minor tune up work on my cb550f and I got it to run! I was so excited as I puttered around the yard (there was no airbox or exhaust, so it wasn't exactly in perfect tune.  As I cruise around into the back yard and hit the kill switch, I hear "WOOOSHHH" and look down to see oil pouring out of the left side of the lower case right where the chain becomes exposed (sorry I don't know the name of the part). Any idea what in the hell happened?

Could this be the oil pressure switch?

something like this happend to me when i started my bike it had to do with the seal and form a gasket on my oil pump.
the oil was dripping down and hitting the cover and flowing out the back by my chain.

that or your case isn't sealed very well
