Sacrilege
« on: March 04, 2006, 03:48:10 PM »
I thought all those riots about those Danish cartoons represented pretty wacky behavior, but then I saw these pix on Ebay of this poor '75 CB750F covered in pigeon sh*t.  Suddenly, I could relate to being outraged over mere pictures.  Sacrilege, indeed.

$250 for a nice lot of parts - not too bad. And if you spring for the $5 high pressure wash, you may find that under the guano there's something worth fixing to ride. ;D

It never ceases to amaze me how #$%*ing lazy some people can be!  I mean seriously, five minutes with a wet rag would probably double the value of this bike. ::) ???

too true, but it is the way I find most of my bikes cheap.

Anyone need some mouse skeletons extracted from my 1975 cb750? Real cheap! ;D

Hell...for $250, I'd snag it up except its across the country from me. He says the motor turns over. Should make someone a good project or part picker. The bird #$%* is the least of worries!!

Talking about a rat bike! (perhaps a flying rat bike).

If I had the money at my disposal I would buy it. Then the first thing I would do is put a nice clear coat finish right over the pooh. I'll bet that would get some attention at bike week. I'm going to patent this idea, so forget those thoughts of beating me to it. I've even got a name for it. "The PoohSickle".

You guys in the States are lucky, if that had spent 6 years in a barn in the UK, it would be a solid lump of aluminium sat in a pile of chrome flecked rust.

Ahhhh, don't get your panties in a twist guys, it's only an F, they don't look all that good without bird poo on 'em, ha ha! Hey if it was a K8, that poo would be an improvement!  ;D
I was feeling sorry for myself because I couldn't afford new bike boots, until I met a man with no legs.

So I said, "Hey mate, you haven't got any bike boots you don't need, do you?"

Now you've done it.  You've mocked the way an F looks.  Let the riots begin.  See you in the headlines, infidel.

Sorry Greg, didn't mean to upset you mate, as you know I am the proud-ish owner of an F2, and I've described the F2/F3 before as a "beautiful, but fragile swan", in comparison to the K8 "fugly duckling", but the F/F1 was a great bike for sure, I bought one new back in the 1970's, but even back then it was always considered a little on the "homely" side, compared to the beautiful bikes being produced by Kawasaki and Suzuki, so to keep the bird theme going, I guess I'd describe the F/F1 as the "Emu", fast, head and shoulders over most other birds, but, er, slightly unattractive? Cheers, Terry (the infidel)  ;D

Hey, Terry, no sweat.  I was just funnin'.  I know people say the F's are homely.  On top of that, I've got a Windjammer SS on mine.  But I don't see anything homely about them.  I've had the bike so long (almost 29 years), I am used to it and it is hard to be objective about the way it looks.  Too many good memories associated with it.

Sorry about the infidel tag.  However, you may be a heretic.  The heresy is if the Lord.., er, Soichiro thought the 750s needed oil coolers, he would have created them with coolers.  ha ha

Cheers back atcha.

Fair one Greg, but re: the coolers, God (the real Anglo-Saxon one, with the beard, and flowing robes and stuff) came to me in a dream and told me that I had to save all the worlds CB750's, so I started to build a really big Ark, but then he came to me in another dream and said "No, numb-nuts, when I said save them, I meant add something to them that those Japs should have done 30 years ago, and create an oil cooler so efficient (not to mention soooo sexy) that fitment of such cooler will ensure the longevity of my (God's) favourite motorcycle, even for those lardy K8's, and I'll make it a mortal sin if CB750 owning Christians don't buy one, punishable by spending eternity dog-paddling around in super-heated engine oil!"

Man that was a scary dream, anyway, I did what the Lord commanded me, so I'm covered for a whole host of indiscretions before I finally leave my mortal coil to accept my rewards at God's right hand, and point out to him, all those who have sinned against him and not fitted a genuine "Telcool" cooler to their beloved CB750! Cheers, Terry (Gods engineer and stoolie) ;D

OK, I get it.  You head up one of those kooky cults that worship at the alter of the oil cooler.  Kind of like the one that Tom Cruise belongs to, except you don't get to bang Katie Holmes.  I always figured someday I have my own cult when I get more time on my hands.  Are there any good tax advantages to having your own cult in Oz?

G'Day Greg, well I don't know if i want to bang Katie Holmes after Tom's been spending his spare time there, but I do have a weird predilection for Jennifer Love Hewitt, and when I do start my own cult, she'll be my first convert, ha ha!

Seriously, there is a "religious group" a couple of hundred miles up the road from here who have angered the instant turf industry guys by starting their own turf farm using their "followers" to sell turf at a much reduced price due to free labour and tax exemption. Hmmnnn, seems like a good business to get into, just remember not to swallow the cool-aid, ha ha! Cheers, Terry. ;D

Yeah, too bad about Katie. What a shame.  And I agree, Hewitt would make a fine high priestess.

The two things about cults that always seemed attractive to me was the opportunity to score some cash and the babe action.  And not necessarily in that order.  heh heh
