Paint over por 15?
« on: September 25, 2010, 03:38:50 AM »
Hi..

Did the Por 15 treatment on my tank yesterday.. I painted the bottom (under) off the tank with Por 15..  So the question is, can it be overpained. Or am I in trouble when i want to paint it?

It can be painted over. They recommend that you use one of their topcoats before the paint dries, if you want it to be protected by UV light. It can be painted over at la later time using their special primer.

The tank on my 350 was so bad I did the whole thing with por15 before top coating. Etch primer will sit on top of the por15 nicely.  SEM makes a decent product in a rattle can:

It is a proven fact that modifying a SOHC Honda in any way will bring on the apocalypse.
