Topic: m3 racing?????

First off hello I'm new to this forum. I am about to take my 76 750f out of it's boxes and build it. Now when I say 'f' the fame is an f model as is the tank, seat and what not; however I'm thinking the motor is out of a k model but without a vin decoder I have no idea, just something someone told me a few years back before the tear down. Anyway to the point I was wondering if anyone knows anything about m3racing their site pops up whenever I look for parts and I'm thinking of ordering a close ratio trans from them, problem being I've never heard anything about them good or bad and I'm wondering if they are even still doing business cuz their site hasn't been updated for a few years.
anyway I'd appreciate any help on locating parts.

Mark IS M3 racing! (KOS on the forum). He knows buckets about race CB750s and tuning and his products are top notch. The close ratio transmission he sells on his website is from Nova here in the UK and it's top quality gear. I have one  in my CR. Mark's a busy man but will help out wherever and whenever he can. M3 rocks!

not the first step just one I don't want to overlook.
I'm staring with a 900cc kit cyclex super rods. Still pondering whether or not to give the cyclex super crank a shot(so if anyone has any opinions I'd be happy to hear them.)
I still need to find a good place to have my head work done I've looked around the forum a bit and it seems like ape does top notch work so I'll probably drop em a line and see what they can do. Also tossing around the idea of using a lock up style clutch again if anyone has an opinion on this I'm all ears also if you know of a really good clutch set up I'm all about it.

I hate sounding like a noob but I can't help it at the moment this is my first attempt at a full out performance build. I've rebuilt a 750 stocker with a hot cam and that's pretty much it I guess What I'm looking for is to pointed in the right direction to find some damn good parts and the way I figure it you guys are the right folks to be asking.

No offense, but 120hp on a gasoline, ride-able cb750 without forced induction is pretty much an impossibility.

Mike Riecks personal 900cc cb750 tops out at just about 100hp right now. I dunno if there are any ride-able  normally aspirated 750's that make more, or even the same, but if there are, they are few and far between.

One way to get closer to that is to take a look at Mikes cnc machined 1000cc jugs. There's a sticky up there in this section of the forum.

In any case, set your sights on 90rwhp. It's doable, wont cost you tens of thousands of dollars, and all the things required to do this have been documented.

FWIW mec has turned 116 hp on I believe 1000cc version, using a cam that is quite good for the street.

836cc are capable of 90+ RWHP, increasing the displacement by 33 % has to give it a bit more..

No offense intended but there are different dyno's, designer fuels etc, etc, etc that produce all different #'s. 116 seems pretty high considering the intake valve used. Just my 2. Exotic fuel itself can add an extra 5HP. Come to think about it....wasn't Mec's engine stroked as well???

I say 120 knowing that it is probably out of reach but the way I look at it if I shoot for that I maybe able to get close. The Idea is to make the motor as powerful as I can while making it as light as safely possible. Planning on reducing rotational weight as much as I can. I'm glad someone mentioned stroker cranks, another thing I was thinking was to order the super crank from cycle x and send it to ape to have them machine a stroker out of it, you know super light and get the extra 5 or 6mm . Maybe I'm just being unrealistic not only with the overall goal of the build but also being able to afford it.

Well you did start off with the most expensive single component when building a serious motor
These things are not TOYZ and you will never get the best out of them on a track in your back yard unless your name is Big Jay.

1000 is less than 20% more than 836. Power does not increase linearly with displacement, especially when you are already limited by head design and a single cam.

I'd also not mind seeing an 'uncorrected' dyno that shows any NA, gasoline cb750 show 110hp.

In any case, Mark is a nice guy when I've emailed him, has been a nice guy here, and I'm sure he'll be happy to work with you, and his stuff is top notch.

I was thinking of the jump from 736cc to 1000cc..  I realize the ability of the head to flow, may have its limitations. I also see the occasional performance figures from bikes in the eighties that builders today, should be able to able to squeeze a bit more out of.

 There are 1100s and 1200ccs sohcs out there, those are well over 30% bigger than an 836cc, amd can run on the street. Check out the Rex W motors, they make a bit of power..
