Have a look at this,

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/HONDA-CB750-FOUR_W0QQitemZ4618292432QQcategoryZ9806QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

It seems to be a mash of F's to me, Single front disc(F1), Constarts (F2)

Shame about the rest of it...

Is that an F2 engine or has it been sprayed with BBQ paint?

Looks like a '75 or '76 F with Lester mags, CR? front fender, aftermarket exhaust, rearsets, and what I would assume to be BBQ paint on a '76 motor. Probably a nice bike to get for any of you UK riders interested in building a period racer, or riding as is.
Give me..a frame to build a bike on, and my imagination will build upon that frame

If it's a '77, it's an F2 (1975 was the first year for the "F", '76 is an F1).  But if it IS a '77 "F", it would have dual front discs, and I believe the VIN would be something like CB750Fxxxxxxxxx.
